RUK’U’X ULEW

A 100% Mayan owned, all indigenous women’s collective producing artisanal Guatemalan grown ceremonial Cacao.

Ruk'u'x Ulew was founded in 2016 by Cecilia Mendoza Chiya, an indigenous Mayan mother of three, born and raised in San Marcos La Laguna, Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.

Cecilia was given the name Ruk'u'x Ulew [Roo-Koosh-Ouh-Leh-Ou] by the fire spirits as the name for her cacao business. It is a word from her native language, Kaqchikel , and translates as ‘Heart of The Earth’. She feels this not only honors her Mayan culture and ancestry but also relays her belief that cacao is a divine representation of the ‘Heart of The Earth.’

I invite you to create a sacred space and experience this sacred plant medicine in ceremony with yourSelf (and others). Set an intention for holding the space before opening the container. Call in the spirit of cacao as you prepare her with love and gratitude. Sit with your cup and invite her into your heArt, body, and space. Open yourSelf to receive her medicine and allow yourSelf to fully experience her. Flow with what feels good ~ mediation, yoga, dance, connecting with the eArth, creating art, etc. Return to your breath and ground back into your body. Offer deep thanks to the spirit and medicine and close the container with love.

RECIPE

two cups of ceremonial cacao

5-6 tablespoons of chopped cacao
1/2 cup of steeped hot herbal tisane

I love to add ANAHATA to my cacao

+ the deepest love ♥
